Job Order Description

The Texan #9 is seeking to fill positions for Temporary Peakload Cook at its Port Aransas, Texas location at 3401 State Hwy 361, Port Aransas, TX 78373. This is a temporary, full-time, peakload position and we are looking to fill twenty (20) job openings for employment from March 15, 2025 to October 29, 2025.

Duties:

Duties include cleaning food preparation equipment, work areas, and counter or tables; perform food preparation tasks, such as making sandwiches, chopping fruit, carving meats, making soups or salads, baking breads or desserts; perform general cleaning activities in kitchen and dining areas; restocking kitchen supplies, rotate food, and stamp the time and date on food coolers; grill, cook, and fry foods such as hamburger patties, French fries, eggs, and chicken. Foods that may be prepared and or heated include tacos, kolaches, breakfast sandwiches, fresh sandwiches, pizzas and hamburgers. All kitchen tools, machinery and utensils will be provided to the worker including pots, pans, knives, stove, oven, microwave and grill.

Methods of cooking vary depending on the food. Sandwiches are made by hand and warmed on stove top or microwave or served fresh. Other food can be cooked on stove top, in the oven or small kitchen grill.

Anticipated Work Schedule:

The Texan #9 is open to patrons 24 hours day/ 7 days a week. Workers will be assigned shifts per their selection and availability. Employer will guarantee 35 hours for each worker. The three shift options are available from Monday through Sunday: 4:00am to 1:00pm; 11:00am to 10:00pm; 10:00pm to 8:00am. Overtime rate will be given for hours over the standard 40 hours per week.

Education - None; previous training - none; employment experience - none; special skills or other requirements - none.

Terms and Conditions of Employment:

$12.63/hour; Overtime will be provided at time and half which is $18.95/hour.

Transportation:

From the place from which the worker has come to work, whether in the U.S. or abroad, to the place of employment, if the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will provide advance payment for transportation and subsistence (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) from the place of recruitment to the place of employment.

Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, employer will provide or pay for workers reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most

economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.

Three-fourths guarantee:

The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.

Tools, equipment, and supplies:

The employer will provide workers with all tools, supplies and equipment to perform the job at no charge.

On-the-Job Training Available:

Workers will be provided with on-the-job training to perform the duties assigned.

Miscellaneous:

The employer will use a single workweek as its standard for computing wages due. The pay period is weekly. The employer will make all payroll deductions required by law and will not make any deductions which are not required by law. Employer will not provide workers with board, lodging, or other facilities. However, if needed, the employer will assist workers in securing board, lodging, or other facilities. The employer will reimburse an H-2B worker in the first work week for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, inclu ing those mandated by the government, incurred by the H-2B worker.
