NatureBridge Food Service Manager in Port Angeles, Washington

What You Will Do:

The Food Services Manager runs the food service operations at our Olympic National Park campus on Lake Crescent. We provide environmental education to students from February through November each school year, and host numerous weddings during the Summer. You will supervise all cooks, and hosts, and cultivate a collaborative, customer service oriented environment in our busy kitchen. You will also cover shifts as needed, cooking for groups ranging from 20-180 guests.

This position takes place at our campus at Olympic National park and cannot be performed remotely.

Your primary job will be to:

  • Supervise up to 3-4 cooks. Lead recruiting and performance management of cooks.
  • Ensure food quality is high and that food is prepared using established procedures; ensures food is prepared using safe serve certification protocols. 
  • Ensure food is prepared and served in compliance with all applicable health codes. 
  • Monitor and be responsive to customer feedback with regards to food/hospitality.
  • Order and inventory food, kitchen supplies/equipment.
  • Create a kitchen work schedule (working shifts as needed).
  • Schedule hosts (working shifts as needed). 
  • Interact with guests, students, staff and NPS staff in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the lead host/ housekeeper and all other NatureBridge supervisors to ensure a quality experience for students.
  • Participate in other campus duties as needed  (e.g. moving canoes and learning support boat operations).

Compensation:

  • $55,000 annual starting salary
