Job Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functioning and safety of all facility systems. This position involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with other team members to maintain a high standard of operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills and a proactive approach to facility management.

Duties

Perform cleaning and painting of building walls, ceilings, and other structural items.

Maintain the integrity of the building and surrounding area including all yard areas and gravel parking lots.

Must be able to operate a forklift, boom lift, and scissor lift.

Perform basic repairs on facility plumbing, lighting, and carpentry projects as needed.

Maintain records of work performed on each job task.

Comply with guidelines of Attendance Policy.

Must comply with all safety requirements.

Must have a valid drivers license.

Tie in with previous shift maintenance and receive job instructions for the day.

Work on assigned work orders and/or projects assigned by the maintenance lead person.

Cleanup immediate work area and communicate any work or information that needs to be passed onto the next shift

Skills

  • Must be able to move, operate, lift, and store specialized equipment that includes, but is not limited to, welding equipment, hand tools, shop machines, lawn equipment, and power tools.

``` - Must have the ability to accurately read gauges and dials.

``` - General good health - ability to pass job based physical assessment.

``` - Constant squatting, standing, and bending. Some reaching or climbing to heights up to 8 ft.

``` - Requires good hearing, eyesight, and mobility.

``` - Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

``` - Mechanical aptitude in mig and tig welders, brazing, and operating an acetylene torch.

``` - Familiarity with hand tools and power tools.

``` - Must be willing to work on any piece of manufacturing equipment owned by the company.

``` - Ability to read and write and have the mental capacity to complete required paperwork, etc.

``` - Willingness to take tests to provide Management with information to be used for management and classification (tests may be written and/or oral).

``` - Willingness to participate in training classes that are given by the company or requested by the company.

``` - Knowledge, understanding, and application of safety practices.

``` - Willingness to move into different departments to keep the company running in an efficient manner (may include shift change).

``` - Willingness to travel overnight occasionally to attend training seminars.
