As a Direct Support Professional, you'll provide Individualized Supported Living services, which includes providing support, training, and oversight to clients in their own home and/or in the community. You may also be required to provide personal assistance, independent skill development, and community integration services as defined by the Department of Mental Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow assigned support schedules and adhere to the content of Individual Support Plans.

  • Provide specified support, including accompanying clients to various activities and performing personal hygiene tasks.

  • Deliver training in areas such as personal hygiene, money management, safety, wellness, household skills, meal preparation, and medication management.

  • Document progress on goals and objectives outlined in the Individual Support Plan.

  • Complete detailed Residential daily notes and required reports.

  • Implement emergency and safety drills in line with the Individual Safety Plan.

  • Maintain current certification in CPR, Standard First Aid, and Med Aide if administering medications.

  • Attend meetings and specialized training as directed.

  • Complete competency-based Community Services orientation training.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age; must have a high school diploma or GED.

  • One year of experience in the field of intellectual/developmental disabilities or successful completion of Missouri Quality Outcomes training in lieu of experience.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Punctual with excellent attendance.

  • Good computer skills.

  • Knowledge of the field of service provision.

  • Must have reliable means of communication.

  • Must possess skills to read and understand written materials.

  • Must possess skills to write clearly and legibly.

  • Must have working air conditioner and heater in any vehicle used to transport clients.
