Insight Global System Process Specialist in Pontiac, Michigan
Job Description
This person will be responsible for the technical support of the component machining and assembly of engine, transmission, and electric drive units within Global Propulsion Systems (GPS) Pre-Production Operations (PPO). They will work collaboratively with CNC Programmers, Process Engineers, IT Systems and Application Engineers, as well as Machinists, Inspectors and Assemblers, to facilitate the free flow of application data and information of PPOs equipment and processes. This position is an on-site (not WFH), hands on opportunity to support the people and equipment that produces General Motors propulsion system prototypes. This person is going to be the go-to individual for anything involving IT/networking, software, and hardware throughout this organization.
Roles and Responsibilities include:
Monitor the performance of CNC Programming Workstations
Assess, develop, and Support Resolution of functionality issues in regards to CNC Post Processors
Address configuration issues in support of Applications (inc., NX, ICAM Gener, TNC Remo, db Tool, TNC Remo, Teamcenter/NX, ABAT)
Submit IT request and facilitate their completion in regards to repair and improved functionality of equipment and systems
Troubleshoot G-code, controls, and other CNC Machine issues
Support Assembly area hardware and systems maintenance and upgrades (Atlas Copco, ABAT, NAM network maintenance and upgrades, etc)
Facilitate initial connection of new equipment. Monitor and maintain current equipment connectivity to the NAM Network (drive mapping, mac address resets, etc)
Support implementation of Qdas/Qstat software utilization in the inspection area
Support the power-down and power-up of PPO Operations
Support standardization of common GPS systems and processes
Coordinates and consults with outside departments including Central Manufacturing Engineering and IT to identify best practices and solutions
Manage the rollout of GMIT product updates for legacy equipment compatibility and alignment with cybersecurity requirements
Provide timely status updates to operations and engineering leadership

Skills and Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in technical discipline
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing hardware and software applications, implementations, testing, monitoring, and control
- Strong networking and infrastructure experience
$30/HR to $40/HR
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Ability to interpret engineering 2D drawings and 3D models as well as written documentation
Familiarity of GM software applications including ABAT(Build Verification), QDAS(Process Capability)
Familiarity of non-GM software applications including NX & Teamcenter (Siemens), ICAM, Calypso (Zeiss) null
