We are searching for an experienced construction superintendent for community solar projects in Illinois. Our client has multiple community solar sites throughout Illinois, all approximately 1-2.5 MW. Construction Supervisors will manage day-to-day operations and administrative duties on-site, reporting directly to the Sr. Construction Manager and ensuring smooth project execution.
Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations and administrative duties on site.
Start the day on site in the trailer and oversee the construction of the project.
Send daily progress and safety reports to the Sr. Construction Manager.
Manage sub vendors on site and work with their foremen.
Enforce safety and regulatory policies and procedures.
Set daily and weekly productivity standards for contractors and subcontractors.
Develop a three-week look-ahead schedule and work with the Sr. Construction Manager to ensure the schedule is met.
Coordinate deliveries and equipment with the logistics team and subcontractors.
Read and interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifics on a daily basis.
Essential Skills
Construction management experience in commercial projects (electrical or civil).
Technical degree in Engineering or Construction Management or extensive construction management experience.
Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
Experience managing sub vendors.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PDF, Word, Excel).
OSHA 10 certification.
OSHA 30 certification (can be arranged if expired or not currently held).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Solar experience.
Electrician or electrical experience.
Work Environment
The work environment is a solar construction site with a company trailer. There will be multiple electrical and civil subcontractors on site. Work hours are primarily Monday to Friday, generally 40 hours a week (standard construction hours 7 AM to 3:30 PM). Overtime must be approved by the supervisor and is not common in this role. The dress code is construction attire, including jeans, t-shirts, and proper PPE.
