Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our fast-paced Primary Care clinic. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for patient check-in, obtaining patient information (height, weight, medical questionnaire), recording vitals such as blood pressure, and assisting the physician. This role is crucial in ensuring that our clinic runs smoothly and efficiently, providing high-quality care to our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Check-in patients and obtain necessary information such as height, weight, and medical history

  • Record vital signs including blood pressure

  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures

  • Maintain and update patient medical records

  • Perform phlebotomy and manage blood samples

  • Provide excellent customer service to patients

  • Ensure the clinic is clean and well-organized

  • Assist with electronic health record management

Essential Skills

  • Certified/registered Medical Assistant in the state of Florida (preferred)

  • Proficiency in medical terminology

  • Experience with electronic health records (Epic preferred)

  • Strong phlebotomy skills

  • Ability to record and interpret vital signs accurately

  • Excellent communication and professional demeanor

  • Positive attitude and compassion towards patients

  • Confidence in handling a demanding provider and patient load

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in geriatrics, pediatrics, and internal medicine

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Work Environment

The clinic services 120-140 patients per week and operates with a team of 10 providers, including 7 physicians and several specialty providers. The team includes 7 Medical Assistants, 2 Check-In and 2 Check-Out Associates, 2 Medical Records Clerks, 1 Office Float, and 4 nurses. 80% of the patient load consists of Medicare patients.
