Cygnus, Inc. Purchasing Agent in Ponderay, Idaho
We are looking for a skilled Purchasing Agent to buy goods and services necessary for our business. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and have a good commercial mindset, communication skills to negotiate effectively and maintain profitable relationships.
Purchasing Primary Responsibilities and Activities
Obtain quotes for requested materials, supplies and services.
Assess supplier profiles and analyze offers.
Develop, Write, and Verify Purchase Orders for requested materials, supplies, and services.
Monitor and perform follow-up on all outstanding Purchase Orders.
Resolve Purchase Orders differences: price differences with quotes and billed amounts; resolve all quantity differences.
Handle purchased returns.
Develop profitable purchasing strategies.
Prepare and implement effective negotiation tactics.
Monitor stock levels and critical shortage report.
Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and
compliance to terms of contracts.
Track Vendor Quality and performance ratings to ensure Purchase Item Quality.
Prepare and submit detailed reports (revenues, buying expenditures etc.)
Assist in the maintenance and writing of purchasing procedures.
Run errands such as obtain local supplies, and mail pick up.
Skills
Proven experience as a purchasing agent or relevant role
Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions.
Working knowledge of MS Office and Excel.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A strong analytical mindset
