Qualifications: Valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Assigned Subject(s) - Mild/Moderate; Hearing Impaired
Job Goal: Provide exceptional instruction to assigned students while working within the established policies and procedures of the district.
Employment Terms:10 month Contract
Generally - 7 Hour 20 Minute Day, Exclusive of a (30) Minute Duty Free Lunch
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Evaluation: Annually by Site Principal

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Establishes and implements classroom procedures designed to maximize student learning.
Prepares detailed weekly lesson plans for each assigned student consistent with the students IEP. Timely submits plans to assigned principal.
Prepares and presents lessons consistent with written lesson plans and best education practices. Complies with all Individualized Education Plans.
Uses formative and summative data to guide instruction and monitor progress toward IEP goals.
Monitors student progress toward IEP goals.
Maintains a neat and orderly classroom, including the physical arrangement of the room, student records, and materials.
Handles routine classroom discipline fairly.
Monitors student behavior in areas outside of the classroom, during lunch, recess, bus time, general education classes, and school assemblies.
Prepares and timely submits all required reports and evaluations for each assigned student.
Completes all required special education paperwork in a timely manner to meet compliance deadlines.
Attends and participates in all required meetings and conferences, including professional development and planning meetings.
Maintains complete and accurate student records, including attendance, performance and discipline records.
Provides professional and regular feedback to students and parents, ensuring compliance with all laws and district policies and procedures.
Participates in appropriate professional development opportunities.
Complies with all federal, state and local laws and board policies and procedures.
Utilizes professional behavior in all school-related interactions.
Plans and coordinates the work of teacher assistants, parents, and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips.
Creates a classroom climate conducive to learning through functional and attractive displays, learning centers and exhibits of student\'s work.
Provides a technology enriched environment to support student learning.
Maintains contact with parents and/or students via phone or written communications.
Facilitates and coordinates students in general education classes.
Monitors students general health.
