In this job, you’ll collaborate with project managers, operations, and other stakeholders to determine resource requirements and work allocations to develop a comprehensive master integrated work plan. You will be responsible for allocating resources effectively, monitoring and tracking resource utilization, and aligning work demand with crew capacity. Additionally, the role involves assessing and managing risks associated with resource availability and ensuring effective communication and alignment between resource management activities and organizational goals.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with project managers, department heads, and other stakeholders to determine resource requirements for different projects, programs, or operational activities; assess skills, expertise, and capacity needed and develop resource plans that outline the types and quantities of resources required at specific timeframes; considers factors such as project timelines, budget constraints, and resource availability to ensure optimal resource allocation
Responsible for acquiring the necessary resources to meet organizational needs; this may include human resources, such as hiring or contracting personnel with the required skills and expertise; it may also involve procuring equipment, technology, materials, or other physical resources necessary for project execution; collaborate with procurement teams, vendors, or external partners to negotiate contracts, manage vendor relationships, and ensure timely acquisition of resources
Allocate resources to specific projects, tasks, or teams based on the established resource plans; collaborate with project managers and team leads to assign resources effectively, ensuring that the right resources are available at the right time to support project execution
Monitor and track resource utilization to ensure optimal use of available resources; analyze resource utilization data, assess resource allocation efficiency, and identify opportunities for improvement or reallocation; uses project management tools or resource management software to track and report on resource utilization, providing insights to stakeholders and decision makers
Engage in capacity planning to assess the organization's ability to handle future resource demands; analyze historical data, consider growth projections, and evaluate business needs to anticipate future resource
Play a crucial role in resolving conflicts and prioritizing resource allocation decisions; facilitate discussions, negotiate compromises, and work with stakeholders to find equitable solutions that align with organizational priorities and objectives
Continuously seek opportunities to optimize resource allocation and improve efficiency; analyze resource utilization patterns, identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies, and recommend process improvements or reallocation strategies; implement resource management methodologies, tools, or systems to streamline processes, automate resource allocation, and enhance overall resource management effectiveness
Assess and manage risks associated with resource availability, allocation, or utilization; anticipate potential resource constraints, develop contingency plans, and proactively address resource-related risks to minimize their impact on project timelines or deliverables; collaborate with project teams, stakeholders, and risk management professionals to identify and mitigate risks throughout the resource planning and management lifecycle
Collaborate with various stakeholders, including project managers, department heads, executives, and external partners engage stakeholders in resource planning discussions, communicate resource allocation decisions, and provide regular updates on resource utilization and availability; ensure effective communication and alignment between resource management activities and organizational goals
A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity
Minimum Qualifications
Ten or more years of experience performing resource management and/or business planning.
Preferred Qualifications
5 or more years of experience in developing resource plans and scheduling transmission and/or distribution construction projects.
Creating intra-year and future-year Transmission & Distribution levelized resource plans including resource assignment and scheduling to optimize crew resource utilization
Communicating across the Transmission & Distribution organization (Project Management, D Ops, Contractor Ops, etc.) to build collaborative partnerships, confirm plan feasibility, update short-term resourcing information, and run work allocation meetings
Working with internal stakeholders and Company leaders to risk assess projects and resource demands, update decision-making tenets, and provide recommendations to advance design and execution decision making across the organization.

This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
