Our Chief Labor Strategist will provide strategic direction on the development, recommendation and implementation of labor relations programs, processes, and policies for represented employee populations company wide. You’ll provide counsel and guidance on complex and sensitive labor relations matters including internal and external union influences, contract interpretation, grievance resolution and other related labor and employment matters.

Responsibilities
Develops and implements labor relations policies and procedures
Develops and executes labor relations strategies in alignment with organizational goals
Negotiates collective bargaining agreements and managing grievances and arbitrations in accordance with legal requirements
Develops and maintains positive relationships with union representatives, fostering a collaborative working environment
Develops, implements and communicates labor and employee relation policies, practices and strategies for the company
Manages labor negotiations and develop strategies for bargaining and contract implementation
Develops and delivers training programs to promote a positive and respectful work environment
Ensures service standards of various teams are monitored and are addressed consistently and fairly by establishing performance standards, along with team member coaching, and trains to achieve appropriate levels of performance.
A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
Seven or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.
Experience in unionized environments with multiple bargaining units and a working knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
The Preferred
Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), Master’s in Law (MSL), or other advanced degree (tied to investigations, contract negotiations, Labor and Employment Law, or other related areas).
Minimum seven years of experience as Chief Negotiator managing multiple collective bargaining agreements. Minimum ten years of experience working in Labor Relations or commensurate law firm/legal experience.
Strong knowledge of contract, labor, and employment law (NLRA, Board proceedings, etc.)
Strong background in investigations, grievance, and arbitration with an emphasis on investigations of union workplace complaints preferred.
Certifications/Licenses/Registrations Preferred: Society for Human Resource Management - Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) and/or Human Resource Certification Institute - Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR) preferred.
General overall Expertise:
Diverse background in people management and team leadership capabilities.
Experience interacting with the National Labor Relations Board.
Strategic thinker with strong analytical ability to provide Labor Relations advice within a business context.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to simultaneously manage a variety of assignments, work quickly and effectively under pressure, and prioritize activities and risk.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team including ability to promote positive cooperation within the legal team, with other Company personnel, and with outside counsel.
You should know
This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
