Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center ASSISTANT, PHYSICAL THERAPY in POMONA, California

Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center (PVHMC) Rehabilitation Services is seeking full-time Physical Therapist Assistants to join our large inpatient and outpatient practice. Opportunities include a broad and diverse clinical practice in the areas of adult inpatient, adult outpatient or pediatric outpatient settings.

PVHMC is a nationally recognized and award winning 412 Bed, non-profit, acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center. Rehabilitation Services at PVHMC were established in 1954 and have grown to 75 licensed therapists (including 15 PTAs) and 110 Associates. Services include Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Pathology, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. We are proud to have over 20 clinical specialty programs, each led by experienced and highly trained therapists. The PVHMC campus is home to our 11,000 sq. ft. outpatient clinic. We have 5 other outpatient clinics in the neighboring cities of Claremont, La Verne and Chino Hills. Two of these outpatient practices are exclusively pediatrics.

PVHMC PT Assistants train and work in both the inpatient and outpatient areas. Opportunities also exist for PTAs interested in working with our pediatric PTs at our two “Milestones Centers for Child Development.” New graduates are given an extensive and detailed orientation and training program led by experienced and highly trained clinicians. More experienced PTAs who may be seeking additional specialization have opportunities to contribute to our many other Clinical Specialty programs. These specialty areas include:

  • Acute Care Inpatient including Critical Care and Trauma

  • Orthopedic & Sports Rehabilitation

  • Neurologic Rehab - CVA, Parkinson’s, MS, TBI

  • Vestibular, Concussion Management, Balance & Fall Reduction

  • Developmental Pediatrics Rehabilitation

  • Wound & Burn Care

  • Cardiac Rehab & Pulmonary Rehab

  • Aquatic Therapy (2 pools)

  • Women’s Health including UI, Pelvic Pain, Lymphedema Management

  • Hand Rehab

Position Summary: Provides direct patient care. Supervises aides in non-patient related tasks. Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, performs treatments, exercise instructions, and demonstrations for patients. May be involved in the supervision and education of high school and college students. May perform other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications: [Required] Valid California State Physical Therapy Assistant License. High school diploma or equivalent. BLS. Clinical training experience and continuing education in specialty area.

Salary range: $31.99 - $45.02. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
