The Department of Human Services, Polk Center, is looking for a Water Treatment Plant Operator to work in our facility. This position is part of the Polk Center stay-behind maintenance team and will remain operational after the facility closure. DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Water Treatment Plant Operator, you perform a variety of duties at the Water Treatment Plant at the direction of the Water Treatment Plant Supervisor. This includes sampling and monitoring to meet extensive legal requirements, and providing appropriate record documentation. The plant ensures potable water for the Polk's facility, fire department, and post office.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirement:

  • You must meet the special requirements of the position.

Special Requirements:

  • All candidates must possess a valid certificate issued by the State Board for the Certification of Waterworks Operators for the class and type of water treatment plant operated (Class C or greater and E; Sub Classes 1, 6, 8 and 11).
  • All candidates must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License that is not currently under suspension.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
