AON Market Interfaces Solution Architect in Poland, Poland

This role will provide the candidate an opportunity to drive our Market Integration architecture strategy for our new Commercial Risk Solutions ecosystem. Overarching responsibilities include helping to define the integration architecture and interfaces for delivering global and country-specific integration requirements and overseeing delivery as part of a global strategic multi-workstream programme.

What the day will look like

On a day-to-day level this will require the candidate to:

  • Develop, optimize, and manage comprehensive integration solutions to enable efficient data sharing and workflow automation across diverse systems, platforms, and applications.

  • Build and oversee scalable APIs and microservices architectures, ensuring secure and efficient connectivity between internal systems, external partners, and third-party applications

  • Drive architectural strategy for real-time and batch-based data exchange using a modern iPaaS stack, SFTP and other approaches. Oversee modernization and tool consolidation.

  • Collaborate with insurers, brokers, product directors, to understand market-specific integration requirements, regulatory needs, and operational expectations.

  • Utilize standardized integration approaches, including REST APIs, SOAP protocols, messaging queues, and enterprise service buses (ESB), to ensure seamless system-to-system communication

  • Define governance frameworks and technical standards for data exchange, including APIs, EDI (Electronic Data Interchange), and message protocols like ACCORD.

  • Embed security protocols into integration solutions to protect sensitive data and ensure adherence to compliance standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, or other industry regulations.

  • Create detailed integration documentation, including system designs and interface specifications, while updating stakeholders on progress and challenges.

  • Work with Business/Technical Analysts on creating the required user stories and ensuring they are clearly defined, well understood, and properly estimated.

  • Support a cross-functional Agile team consisting of Delivery Managers, Business Analysts, Scrum Master etc. to deliver with quality.

  • Act as a key contributor and collaborator on Aon’s common architecture standards to support the exchange of data within and across Aon solution lines and geographies.

  • Ensure successful data integration with regional and global warehouses, internal financial systems, and external fiduciary/regulatory bodies.

  • Collaborate with other architects within the ecosystem to ensure collective delivery of the programme.

    Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • 8-10 years of professional experience in integration architecture, system design, or software architecture, with a strong emphasis on enterprise system integration.\

  • Advanced experience in designing, deploying, and managing APIs with industry standard API management platforms, to secure and streamline external integrations.

  • Previous experience in building integrations in both low-code iPaaS/ETL and pro-code environments.

  • Proficient in advanced security practices, including OAuth, OpenID Connect, JWT, and encryption techniques, as well as compliance with industry security standards.

  • Comprehensive understanding of integration patterns, including publish/subscribe, message queuing, event-driven systems, and orchestration/choreography models.

  • Experience in integration platform-as-a-service offerings (iPaaS), ideally Workato, but alternatively Talend, Azure Data Factory, StreamSets or similar ETL tools to transform and exchange data.

  • Experience with Azure cloud services – IaaS, DBaaS and PaaS offerings. Expertise is serverless architecture to optimize cost and efficiency in handling interface processes.

  • Familiarity with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), SSL/TLS, and HMAC for securing communications and integration across systems.

  • Strong understanding of Master Data Management (MDM) to ensure accurate data across multiple systems.

  • Solid knowledge of data formats and standards (e.g., XML, JSON, EDIFACT) and expertise in data mapping analysis and data job design.

  • Experience in insurance policy management, or in financial systems a plus.

  • Agile knowledge – Scrum, Kanban, TDD and other practices.

  • College degree in IT-related discipline.
