Commander, Navy Installations SECURITY ASSISTANT (OA) in Point Loma Complex, California

Summary You will serve as a SECURITY ASSISTANT (OFFICE AUTOMATION) in the NAVY INSTALLATIONS COMMAND (CNIC) of NAVBASE POINT LOMA SEC DET. Responsibilities You will enter data into security forces database (e.g., issuance to assure eligibility, entry to the designated area are identified). You will verify personal identification against authorization documents, issue badges passes, and other forms to authorize access. You will prepare documents (e.g. detailed reports, forms, and citations) to record all law enforcement incidents. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing clerical support to an organization by maintaining files; 2) Reviewing and preparing correspondence; 3) Using databases, answering and directing visitors and telephone calls to the appropriate office; and 4) Approving access rosters and ensuring updates are posted promptly at designated access points for approved visitors.
