Xylem Plant Controller in Plymouth, Minnesota

The Role:

We are currently seeking a talented, driven Manufacturing Plant Controller. The Plant Controller will be responsible for the financial analysis, planning, reporting and management of Xylem’s Plymouth, MN based manufacturing activities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the financial partner to the Plant Manager supporting daily, weekly and monthly financial forecasting including comparative analysis

  • Financial owner of monthly operations review and financial close process, including financial reporting, KPIs, risk and opportunities, etc.

  • Preparing periodic forecasts and annual budgets

  • Supporting the plant with Lean initiative development and tracking as well as capital expenditure preparation and tracking

  • Being the plant contact for audit requests (internal and external) and supporting SOX controls

  • Being the financial owner of the annual physical inventory, including assisting with root cause/corrective actions.

Requirements:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Business, Accounting or a related field

  • 7 Years of experience within different manufacturing environments desired

  • Strong financial analysis and modelling skills

  • Sound accounting knowledge with strong background in factory cost accounting and product costing in a standard cost system

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and work effectively in cross-functional teams

  • Several years of hands-on experience with an ERP system (preferably SAP) strongly preferred – in particular FI and CO modules. Working knowledge of other modules (MM, PP, SD, etc) desired – general understanding required

  • Experience in preparing, evaluating (IRR, NPV, Cash Flow) and controlling (cost tracking, present/final view) capital investment projects (capacity expansion, manufacturing automation, quality improvement).

  • First-hand experience of several different manufacturing environments, organizational structures and financial reporting methodologies in a factory context strongly desired

  • Always strives for best practive, drives to benchmark against best in class, familiar with LEAN, KAIZEN and Six Sigma concepts

  • Acts as a change agent, challenges status quo, takes initiative

  • Able to work independently and also as a active contributor on cross-functional teams

  • Assumes responsibility for assigned projects and initiatives

  • Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and successfully manage competing expectations

  • Able to present/articulate business matters concisely and knowledgeably at various levels of detail depending on the audience

  • Attention to detail yet able to prioritize and understand the big picture

  • Proven ability to provide leadership and motivation to associates within and outside finance

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications expected

  • High level proficiency in Excel required

Salary range:

$91,500.00 - $164,500.00
