Job Title: Leave and Benefits Coordinator

We're currently seeking a Leave and Benefits Coordinator to join a dynamic Human Resources team. In this role, you'll be responsible for facilitating and administering employee leave of absences (LOAs) for our client. This involves providing attentive care and communication to employees on leave while supporting and overseeing agencies with employees on LOA. Additionally, you'll play a vital role in managing benefits administration and ensuring compliance with company policies and state regulations.

Position Details:

  • Full-time remote opportunity, requiring residency in the Minnesota/Twin Cities Metro area. You will be required to go into the office for training and employee engagement activities.

  • Monday through Friday schedule.

  • Occasional business travel may be required.

Primary Responsibilities:

Leave of Absence Administration & Policy Adherence:

  • Manage the end-to-end administration of LOA programs, including FMLA, COVID-19, STD, LTD, and other leave types.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and federal/state guidelines, including ADA and collective bargaining agreements.

  • Provide compassionate communication to individuals on LOA or injured while working.

  • Maintain accuracy and compliance of LOA approvals and denials.

  • Collaborate with HR, legal, DEI, and payroll teams on complex leave issues.

Return to Work & Reasonable Accommodations:

  • Partner with supervisors to coordinate return-to-work activities.

  • Provide guidance on reasonable workplace accommodations.

  • Facilitate the return-to-work process and ensure communication with relevant parties.

Benefits Administration:

  • Oversee employee benefit changes and ensure accurate HRIS entry.

  • Maintain a strong understanding of benefit offerings and assist with employee inquiries.

  • Assist with benefits reporting and intranet updates.

    Requirements

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field.

  • 3+ years’ experience administering LOAs, Workers Compensation, and safety programs for a multi-state non-profit entity.
