Actalent New Product Development Supervisor in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin

We are looking for a New Product Development Build Supervisor to join a growing team! You will be responsible for managing day-to-day projects and LRIP goals running through the prototype and transition build departments. This is a great opportunity for a someone interested in the front-end aspect of New Product Development!

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the NPD Prototype and Transition Build Technicians

  • Conduct stand-up meetings on a regular cadence to discuss any lessons learned and align on daily objectives (Daily Management)

  • Act as the liaison between the Engineers and Technicians

  • Track and monitor work throughout the day, track waste during program builds and provide detail as needed to PDEs, QEs and PEs during and after builds working towards improving efficiency with first time builds/build times

  • Orchestrate build prioritization based on PE’s expectations

  • Run weekly "Build Plan Meeting" which clearly communicates what the team completed the previous week, what will be worked on during the current week and what is planned to be completed the following week

  • Initiate, facilitate, and participate in continuous improvement efforts throughout NPD

  • Align with PMs, PEs, and NPD Mgmt. on forecast expectations, and conduct monthly review with MTI Controller to update actuals

  • Lead daily QDIP meeting and escalate critical issues as needed

  • Audit virtual QDIP (Planner) Biweekly

  • Responsible for entering NCM data into the NPD quality folder for all team members

  • Lead weekly NCM meetings and as needed work with team to drive to root cause for NC, then share any lessons learned with team

  • Orchestrate NPD hand offs between Prototype and Transition to assure NPD build expectations are met

  • Work to establish jump off points and build up KPIs in NPD build that align with company goals and objectives

  • Facilitate training and skill development for team members to ensure success during processing of products

  • Prepares performance evaluations of direct reports, providing counseling on methods of improving performance and disciplining employees when necessary, enforcing company systems, policies, and procedures

  • Performs administrative activities including provision for the selection and development of employees’ wages, employee safety, counseling and motivation, disciplinary action, organization of goals and objectives, planning, organizing, integrating, and measuring the work performed within the department

  • Maintain an organized production area utilizing 5S lean principles

  • Ensure equipment within work cells are within calibration and participates in system improvements involving work cell

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 months experience in a leadership role

  • Manufacturing environment preferred

  • Experience with Microsoft Office

  • Manufacturing Engineering experience

  • Experience with ERP Software a plus

  • M2M (Machine-to-machine) experience preferred

  • Routing experience

  • Process improvement experience

  • Experience with Excel
