HARIBO of America Facilities Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin

Come join HARIBO of America’s first ever North American factory! Located on-site in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, the Facilities Maintenance Technician will maintain, diagnose, repair, rebuild, adjust, perform preventive maintenance and install equipment within and around the facility so as to keep the production operational and have zero loss of production. This individual will perform the duties of a Boiler Operator and assist other maintenance personnel on his/her shift and will be responsible for all necessary paperwork and documentation as they relate to the job.  

Reporting to the Facilities Manager, The Facilities Maintenance Technician will partner with support functions to identify and resolve unplanned downtime events, quality, safety, cost and other losses attributed to the area, using problem solving techniques and a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of the utilities systems throughout the facility.

  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.

  • Duties include maintenance and repair of boilers and boiler room auxiliary equipment such as pumps, steam and water valves, air compressors, and high pressure condensate. Also provides support to other auxiliary equipment in silos and tanks area as well as common areas in the manufacturing facility.

  • Position will monitor chemical feed system for boiler and water treatment and make necessary test and adjustments to ensure correct chemical levels, documenting as required.

  • Performs maintenance activities to HVAC equipment such as filter replacements.

  • Receives calls from departmental personnel regarding problems, such as lack of temperature control. Works to resolve issue, escalating to the shift supervisor as necessary. Logs all information down in daily log book of any repairs or corrections, utilized the work order system when required.

  • Conducts inspection of and performs routine preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of two (2) years in industrial mechanical maintenance preferably in a food manufacturing, preferred.

  • Minimum of two (2) years with basic boiler experience and wastewater experience. 

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC equipment.

  • Basic knowledge of BAS (Building Automation System).

  • Electrical experience and troubleshooting in control voltage and low voltage (up to 600V AC and DC) circuits, motors, and controls, preferred.

  • Ability to perform assigned work tasks efficiently and independently with minimum supervision.

  • Ability to handle stress and to interact with others so as to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment and minimize personal conflicts.

  • Previous HAZMAT experience, preferred.

  • Welding and pipe fitting experience, preferred.

  • Must be flexible with work scheduling as well as overtime.
