University of Vermont Medical Group, NY LLC Training Specialist-Lead Clinical Assistant - Patient Logistics Support in Plattsburgh, New York
Primary: 11:00am-7:30pm; Secondary: 7:00am-3:30pm
GENERAL SUMMARY:The Training Specialist/Lead Clinical Assistant will work collaboratively with all Leaders and Managers to ensure consistent, high-quality training is developed and implemented for the Patient Care Operations Team. The Training Specialist/Lead Clinical Assistant participates in the analysis, design, development, and facilitation of training efforts and integrates best practices. The Training Specialist/Lead Clinical Assistant focuses on training programs that will increase the performance of individuals and evaluates and reports on program effectiveness. Training Specialist/Lead Clinical Assistant may assist with unit trainings and competencies as directed. Must participate in New Employee Orientation (NEO). AHA-BLS certification is required - however, certification is not a qualifying factor to obtain the position.QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Skills Required:1. High School Diploma or GED required.
2. AHA-BLS is required within 6 months of hire or current non-AHA-BLS card will be honored up to date of renewal.
3. Competency Based Orientation (CBO) proficiency of 80% or better of all Clinical Assistant (CA) job duties required, including Communication CA.
4. Proven ability to follow current departmental policies & procedures. Evidence of no procedure or attendance compliance work performance issues in the last 12 months.
5. Previous preceptor experience required.
6. Must be currently employed in a Clinical Assistant position at least 3 years.
7. Demonstrate ability to lead others.
8. Demonstrate ability to problem solve and offer realistic solutions.
9. Demonstrate a can do attitude and responds to patient needs owning the problem/solution.
10. Must have knowledge of adult learning, strong interpersonal/human relations skills, strong analytical and creative proglem solving skills, and effective written and verbal communication skills required.
11. The ability to motivate and coach individuals, maintain a high level of confidentiality, work independently and as part of a team, organize and prioritize duties, and operate a personal computer and use various software programs required.
12. Must demonstrate current cultural beliefs as evidenced by a satisfactory annual evaluation.As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
