About You and This Role

Dowhas an exciting opportunity for aMaintenance Technician - Analyzer Technicianlocated inPlaquemine, LA (USA).In this role, you will provide Maintenance/Analyzer craft specific support to plants and maintain/repair all types of equipment within craft knowledge and expertise. This role requires broadened technical skills in analytical/scientific methods or operational processes to perform a defined array of activities. You will also act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor analytical systems and escalate problems as appropriate

  • Document, communicate, and archive analytical results and data

  • Perform preventative maintenance activities of analytical systems

  • Set up, calibrate, test, measure and repair all types of analyzer equipment with pneumatic, electrical, and electronic variables. Includes linearity testing, CEMS calibration, assist with RATA testing, etc.

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions and document failure analysis

  • Support Turnarounds and Projects to repair, replace, upgrade and calibrate new equipment

  • Specify, requisition and install replacement parts and equipment

  • Collect equipment operation and history data to facilitate Analyzer reliability improvements

  • Suggest improvements to analyzer equipment (upgrades, obsolete and/or MET technology), work processes and tools

  • Coordinate Analyzer maintenance spare parts with Reliability Engineer and Work Coordinator as needed

  • Assist in planning, prioritizing, and scheduling maintenance through planner, work coordinator and operations input as needed

  • Work within established Maintenance Work Processes and helps resolve issues that surface because of planning and scheduling work

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience working in an industrial atmosphere required (Instrument tech, analyzer tech, electrical tech, etc.)

  • Able to read, write, and speak English

  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process

  • Must have a current, valid US driver’s license

  • Ability to demonstrate the use of test equipment such as Multimeter, Continuity Tester, and Voltage tester

  • Ability to work dayshift/nightshift to support Turnaround activities. Basic work schedule is 4/10's

  • Available for weekends, holdover overtime, call-ins, plant turnarounds, etc. This is an expectation of the job

  • Strong troubleshooting skills

  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly

  • Strong work ethic and Safety focused

  • Able to communicate with a diverse population which is spread across the site

  • Effectively manage multiple competing priorities

  • Able to work with independently with minimal supervision within an empowered team environment

  • Strong reading comprehension and listening skills.

  • Be proficient in computers to perform job tasks

  • Effectively manage multiple competing priorities

  • Demonstrate leadership skills - inspire others and lead them through influence.

  • Demonstrates excellent decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize appropriately

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in the analytical field preferred

  • 10 years of relevant experience working in an industrial atmosphere preferred (Instrument tech, analyzer tech, electrical tech, etc.)

  • Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting

  • Stand and walk for extended periods of time

  • Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders

  • Work in tight and closed in spaces

  • This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground
