DHL currently has an opening for a Sr. Manager of Industrial Engineering and NOEP. The primary responsibility of the position will be to help to plan and drive pickup and delivery operations, facility plans and personnel to improve efficiency of the service center operations.The role also establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization. The Sr. Manager will lead and develop other industrial engineers and may contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and develop engineers and operators within the area or function
Forecasts facility, vehicle, staffing and/or material handling equipment needs in order to improve cost, utilization, service, and efficiencies
Establishes work measurement programs and analyzes work samples to develop standards for labor utilization
Contribute to the development of budgets and forecasts
Conducts studies to determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow by analyzing production costs, process flow charts, and production schedules
Recommends methods for improving the utilization of production facilities and personnel by restructuring job duties, reorganizing work flow understand corporate strategy and implementing within the area
Prepares KPIs, budgets and projections for PUD Operations
Evaluates performance, cost factors; recommends changes in each PUD operation, as well as time and motion, work standards, work methods, personnel utilization, service, and quality
Coordinates routing system changes with airline, hub and ground network in order to optimize service cost
May monitor and evaluate departmental reporting systems
Monitors and evaluates each station’s progress in managing service and cost
Optimizes PUD operations and provides guidance pertaining to staffing and methods
Assumes project management responsibilities as necessary
Qualifications - External
Skills & Qualifications:
Good understanding of Reporting technologies (power BI, SQL…)
Experienced contributor with responsibility for an advanced area of work in the professional field
Six Sigma Green Belt preferred but not required
BS/BA in Engineering and 10-15 years of increasingly diverse or complex applications in field of expertise OR MS/MA and generally at least 8-12 years’ experience in related field required
Professional certification required in some areas
Individual must have the ability to perform to a high standard
Ability to interface and get results with management at all levels
Travel required below 60%
