Actalent Pharmacy Technician- LEVEL 2 & LEVEL 1 in Plano, Texas

Description:

Onsite Care specialist (pharm tech’s doing customer services calls) . This is a mail order pharmacy that delivers direct to patients.

• must have valid texas state board of pharmacy (TSBP) license

• plus 6 months minimum of experience

• 50-90% phone work for Level 2s (licensed pharm tech with 6+ months experience )

Level 1 techs

• must have at least trainee license or pharm tech license

• 90-95% of the work will be on the phones for level 1s (pharm tech trainees or licensed pharm tech with under 6 months experience)

They must be fully present for the first 6 weeks of training ONSITE in plano, tx and cannot take any time off because of the way the training is. They don’t reteach anything.

"As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will use your advanced knowledge working in a pharmacy to prepare and submit third-party insurance claims using our custom-built pharmacy management system. Additional responsibilities will include troubleshooting complex cases. You'll also deliver extraordinary customer service while handling patient escalations via phone, text, chat, and email."

Position: Care Specialist 1 or 2

level 1s- this position is 95% on the phones in a customer service environment using your pharmacy background and knowledge to talk to doctors, patients, and insurance companies)

level 2s - this position is on the phone 50-90% of the time in a customer service environment using your pharmacy background and knowledge to talk to doctors, patients, and insurance companies)

Contract: 9-12+ months contract to hire

  • You are eligible to be hired on direct at 9 months but it could take longer based on your performance. They usually don’t convert until about 12 months

Location: in office in plano, tx

• Training will be Monday – Friday. You will need to be available within the hours of 8a-6pm CST doesn’t mean you will always work those hours but you must be available.

• You will have 10 assessments during training. You need to average 80% on these tests! If not you will be termed. As long as you pay attention you should pass. 80-85% of our people pass.

o Training is paid

o You will not be allowed to take time off during training for this 6 week because they do not go back and reteach anything

Time off reminder

• No time off is allowed in the first 6 weeks of employment because they do not go back and reteach anything and people do not do well if they miss

• After training you can ask for time off but be aware they are on a point system

ATTENDANCE

• They will have you on a point system and you only have 6 points during the duration of your contract

o 1 pt for unexcused absences - you will be able to put in a request 48 hours in advance to request and excused absence which does not count against you.

Job Duties:

• Processing pharmacy orders

• Customer service with pharmacy patients

• Following up on prescriptions for patients

• Insurance Verification

• Prior Authorizations

• submit third-party insurance claims

• troubleshooting complex cases.

• handle patient escalations via phone, text, chat, and email.

• 90-95% of the work will be on the phones for level 1s (pharm tech trainees or licensed pharm tech with under 6 months experience)

50-90% phone work for Level 2s (licensed pharm tech with 6+ months experience )

• Troubleshoot prescription issues by calling insurance companies, doctors offices, and patients

• Work closely with doctors offices to manage refill requests, prior authorizations, and coverage determinations

Must Haves:

• care specialist level 2 - must have Active Texas State Board of Pharmacy AND 6 + months experience

• care specialist level 1 - must have Active Texas state board of pharmacy trainee license for level 1 . 0 experience required OR anyone with a TSBP license and under 6 months experience

• Ability to learn and operate a new pharmacy management system and other relevant equipment

• Ability to interpret, transcribe, and troubleshoot prescription information

• Ability to perform common math calculations
