Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Plano, Texas
Description We are in search of a Payroll Specialist to join our team in Plano, Texas. In this role, you will be instrumental in processing payroll for our employees across multiple sites and states. You will also be expected to manage time and attendance, ensure accurate benefits enrollment and payroll deductions, and handle any payroll-related inquiries.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the preparation and processing of payroll for a large number of employees across multiple locations
• Handle time and attendance matters, and resolve any timecard errors in a timely manner
• Collaborate with internal teams and external benefits brokers to ensure benefits enrollments and payroll deductions are processed correctly
• Carry out pro-rata pay calculations for exempt employees with mid pay period changes, including initial or final paychecks, as well as those affected by leaves of absence
• Manage and ensure the accuracy of special pay and deductions, such as stipends, bonuses, benefits, garnishments, 401k contributions, etc.
• Generate and run reports to gather data for analysis
• Comply with all local, state, and federal laws, as well as internal company policies
• Respond to inquiries and correspond with colleagues as needed
• Process changes in the Human Resource Information System (HRIS), ADP Workforce Now, and Applicant Tracking System (ATS), iCIMS
• Maintain Electronic Personnel Files in ADP to remain compliant and for audit purposes
• Monitor E-Verify I-9 in ADP, troubleshoot system issues, and follow up on expired work authorizations and requested documentation
• Generate monthly HRIS reports, perform employee premium benefit deductions reconciliations, and compile census reports
• Cross-train to assist with other areas of Payroll and HR administration, such as benefits administration, FMLA & LOA administration, and 401k & Retirement Services administration. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role.
• Proficient in using ADP Workforce Now.
• Experience in 401k - RRSP Administration.
• Knowledge of Benefit Functions.
• Familiarity with Open Enrollment processes.
• Experience in handling Multi-state Payroll.
• Understanding of Payroll Taxes.
• Experience in HRIS Implementation.
• Proficient in HRIS reporting.
