Position Summary
Luminator Technology Group is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for our Bus division to lead and streamline the planning, manufacturing, assembly, and logistics for our rail products. In this role, you’ll drive operational efficiency across production, supply chain, and quality assurance, ensuring our processes meet rigorous customer demands and regulatory standards. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on operational KPIs, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure customer satisfaction through proactive communication and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Oversee daily operations related to the manufacturing and assembly of bus products, ensuring alignment with production schedules, safety standards, and business objectives.
Process Optimization: Implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and streamline operations using lean manufacturing principles and best practices for both industries.
Resource and Team Management: Manage resources including personnel, equipment, and materials to meet production goals; collaborate with HR for staffing needs, training, and development of the operations team.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all products comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and customer specifications by working closely with the Quality Assurance team to address any production issues.
Supply Chain and Inventory Management: Coordinate with the supply chain and procurement teams to ensure the timely delivery of raw materials and components, and monitor inventory levels to prevent production delays.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure all operations adhere to safety protocols, regulatory standards, and company policies, while continuously promoting a culture of safety and operational excellence.
Customer Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for bus customers, ensuring that production timelines and quality expectations are met while addressing any issues or concerns.
Reporting and Metrics: Track and report key performance metrics, including productivity, efficiency, and quality, to drive continuous improvement and ensure that operational goals are met.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
Experience: 5+ years in manufacturing operations within regulated industries required. Experience with electronics manufacturing preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (e.g., Syteline).
Certifications: Lean Six Sigma preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
Leadership: Demonstrated management experience in complex manufacturing or technology environments.
Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills for complex projects.
Lean Manufacturing: Proven experience in lean tools like Kaizen, 5S, and Kanban.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional setting.
Flexibility: Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements:
Ability to obtain a valid passport within three months for international travel.
Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds as needed; frequent use of hands and arms in a fast-paced setting.
Ability to work on-site at our Plano, Texas location.
Ability to perform work on a computer for extended periods.
Vision abilities required: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Regularly required to walk, sit, bend, twist, stand, and reach in a manufacturing and normal office environment.
