Community Hospital Corporation IT, Associate System Administrator in Plano, Texas

Community Hospital Corporation (CHC), a DFW Top 100 Employer, is seeking an IT Associate System Administrator will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of server systems. Reporting to the Director of Corporate IT Operations, this position involves performing essential tasks such as server OS updates, backups, and implementing approved configuration changes.

The Associate, in collaboration with the System Administrator will be responsible for conducting server OS updates to ensure security patches and performance enhancements, performing regular backups of server configurations to facilitate quick recovery in the event of system failures, as well as, implementing approved configuration changes in adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with the System Administrator in designing, implementing, and optimizing server solutions.

  • Provide support for system-related issues and incidents, troubleshooting and resolving problems promptly.

  • Utilize server monitoring tools and technologies to proactively identify and address potential issues.

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare industry standards and regulations in all system activities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain system security measures.

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of server configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.

  • Provide support during non-business hours as needed.

Major Responsibilities

  • Installing, patching, updating Server Operating Systems (2008 - current)

  • Stand alone servers

  • On Prem VM Servers

  • Cloud VM Servers (specifically Google Cloud Platform)

  • Performs Active Directory, Servers administration, and support tasks

  • DNS Management

  • Disk Management

  • Service Performance / Optimization Management

  • Remediating all Operating System discovered security events

  • Ensures network connectivity of all workstations and servers

  • May interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment.

  • Conducts routine hardware/software troubleshooting and problem resolution within the IT systems.

  • Works with vendor support contacts to coordinate and resolve technical problems with desktop computing equipment and software. Escalates unresolved problems to expedite resolution.

  • Analyzes, plans, and coordinates system and server support activities

  • Provides analytical, technical and problem resolution assistance

  • Develops, documents, implements, and adheres to policies, procedures and standards related to system operations and application security

  • Designs technology project plans including management of project time-lines and plan updates

  • Monitors, tests and analyzes application performance across LAN, WAN, and wireless infrastructure to ensure the stable and efficient performance

  • Implements and maintains enterprise back-up and disaster recovery plan

  • Keeps abreast of developments in the desktop and server support field

  • Other duties as required

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology field or equivalent practical experience.

Requirements

  • Alternatively, possess relevant Microsoft certifications.

  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience in system administration.

  • Proficient in using server monitoring tools and technologies.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with industry best practices and standards related to system security.

  • Experience in the healthcare sector is preferred.
