Luminator is seeking to fill our full-time Senior Accounts Payable Specialist role to join our growing and dynamic Finance team where you will be an integral part of the team by providing valuable input as we work toward assessing and implementing goals and mission of the department and Luminator.

The successful Senior Accounts Payable Specialist  candidate will be part of a team working to expand a strong and proven concept that has solid growth potential, with the opportunity to create substantial shareholder value. You will be responsible for processing invoices, verifying accuracy, and ensuring timely payments to vendors. This role also reconciles accounts, communicates with internal departments and external vendors, and assists with month-end and year-end closing processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The successful candidate will have the ability to challenge the organization effectively, resolve problems, and willing to provide a hands-on approach in finding solutions. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily.   • Process and verify invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports for accuracy and completeness.

  • Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts, ensuring proper authorization and documentation.

  • Code invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts and cost centers.

  • Prepare and perform weekly or monthly check runs, electronic payments, and wire transfers.

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

  • Maintain vendor files and update vendor information as needed.

  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment issues or discrepancies.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and account reconciliations.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Assist with ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned by management.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist    will be an experienced, operationally oriented professional who can successfully lead as a very hands-on A/R Specialist to scale for additional growth and maximize potential.

    This professional will possess:

  • At least 5 years of experience in accounts payable or related accounting role required.

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.

  • Bachelor’s in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.

  • Thorough understanding of accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, payment processing, and vendor management

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  • Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, stenography, and transcription, designing forms, and workplace terminology.

  • Knowledge of arithmetic and its applications.

  • Technical and business knowledge to include advanced financial modeling and analysis using Microsoft Excel.

    ADDITIONAL PRIORITIES: 

    The Senior Accounts Payable Specialist   will prioritize and broadly execute the following:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Proficiency in Syteline or similar ERP system required.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify process improvements and drive change.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, vendors, and other stakeholders.

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.

  • Goal-oriented and possesses the ability to prioritize on a consistent basis in an ever-changing environment.

  • Experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, Board members, Committee members or other outside partners.

  • Ability to take initiative by identifying problems, conceptualizing resolutions, and implementing change along with having attention to detail skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage projects to ensure all deadlines are met is essential.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced team environment.

  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately with details and fluctuating work volumes.
