Network Maintenance Manager at Stitch Fix (View all jobs) (https://www.stitchfix.com/careers/jobs)

Plainfield, IN

About the Team

The team consists of a collection of technical professionals whose goal is the continuous improvement of automation performance, machine availability, and facility management. We see ourselves as a service organization to the greater Operations organization.

About the Role

We are looking for a person who is bright, kind, and motivated by challenges. This role requires a goal-oriented leader who is operationally-savvy, energized by developing people and systems, and passionate about maintenance. In this role, you will own facility management and automation maintenance, while driving network-wide initiatives. This role is an onsite position based at our fulfillment center in Plainfield, IN to include 25% travel.

As a Network Maintenance Manager, you will lead the Equipment Support Technicians (ESTs) at each fulfillment center and develop the systems necessary to ensure our facilities are in great condition and our equipment is running at peak performance. Our ESTs provide the day to day support of our warehouses including automation systems, facility equipment, and special projects.

You will be an integral part of creating and nurturing our Stitch Fix culture -- promoting and living the values expressed in our Operating System. Most importantly, you are responsible for inspiring the EST team to be their best selves while creating a fun, fulfilling, and safe place to work for everyone.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Directly manage, inspire, and develop a team of hourly technicians so that each employee generates, lives, and breathes our culture as they achieve daily departmental goals.

  • Develop a culture of maintenance and safety excellence within the team.

  • Drive a culture of 5S, as well as within the greater operations group.

  • Develop and implement a TPM program within the network.

  • Create and lead a maintenance performance management program around our operational pillars: safety, quality, service, cost, people, and planet.

  • Management and administration of the network computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

  • Create a spare parts and supplies management system that utilizes consumption data and a risk based evaluation to optimize local and network inventories.

  • Implement and leverage predictive maintenance methods and analytics, such as infrared thermography, vibration analysis, and ultrasonic detection.

  • Develop, negotiate and manage network wide equipment service contracts.

  • Train, foster and utilize root cause analysis techniques to solve problems, drive improvements and reduce costs.

  • Provide remote and on site technical support as needed to quickly resolve automation or facility infrastructure downtime issues.

  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new team members to build an exceptional team of bright, kind, and goal-oriented technicians within your team.

  • Implement a technical skills development program for our technicians. Provide on-the-job training and coaching to support manager and team member development and growth.

  • Develop great partnerships with contractors, vendors and cross-functional teams as you regularly provide, seek, and incorporate high-quality feedback to improve your individual and collective team impact.

  • Manage projects that impact operational effectiveness and achievement of departmental goals

  • Track and report weekly performance data, and analyze trends and opportunities to improve.

  • Roll out new processes and changes to your team. Educate team members, and provide high-quality feedback on the process, their performance and impact.

  • Model and champion innovation by encouraging your team members to find ways to do things more effectively, ask client-centric questions, share their learnings with others, and work through challenges and obstacles.

We’re excited about you because…

  • You are an exceptional people leader with 7+ years of people leadership experience.

  • You have 7+ years experience in Facilities and Automation Maintenance

  • You have a four-year technical degree, preferably in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.

  • You have experience managing a multi-site network

  • You will travel close to 25% for this role.

  • You have hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing electrical and controls systems, variable frequency drives, servo mechanical axes, robotics, printing and labeling technologies, hydraulics, pneumatics, central compressed air systems, and various types of conveyance equipment.

  • You thrive in an environment where autonomy and responsibility are granted and are committed to providing the same for the teams you manage.

  • You are energetic and ready to be on-the-go -- leading your team from the floor for 8 or more hours per day

  • You value doing what’s right, not what’s easy.

  • You enjoy thinking holistically and find ways to impact the broader organization

  • You are proficient in G Suite (Google Sheets, Docs, Slide) and love learning new systems

  • Above all else, you are bright, kind and motivated-by-challenge.
