About Plainfield Correctional Facility:

As a part of the Indiana Department of Correction, the Plainfield Correctional Facility promotes public safety by providing meaningful, effective opportunities for successful re-entry. We strive to model best Correctional practices, return productive citizens to our communities, and inspire a culture of accountability, integrity and professionalism. The Plainfield Correctional Facility is a medium security Correctional facility for adult males. Plainfield Correctional Facility is located in Plainfield, Indiana. The Plainfield Correctional Facility offers resources and treatment geared toward mental health and substance use, along with multiple educational opportunities. The goal is that through treatment and rehabilitation geared toward everyone, the facility will help prepare incarcerated men to re-enter their community with more skills and confidence than when they arrived.

Role Overview:

As an Investigation Analyst, you would be considered a highly skilled position, performing detailed analysis and research techniques on confidential intelligence information for the development of any ongoing investigation and assisting the Office of Intelligence and Investigations. You would work largely for the facility investigators and as requested by outside agencies. Mainly, intelligence analysts would focus on the analysis, acquisition, assessment, evaluation, and distribution of intelligence gathered daily.

Salary Statement:

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $42,900.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Generate actionable intelligence both proactively and reactively on offenders, civilians, staff members, and parolees using internal/external databases, the Fusion Center, and open-source platforms in compliance with state and federal law, as well as departmental policies and procedures.

  • Utilize the intelligence cycle to convert raw information into intelligence which can be used to support and assist in decision-making.

  • Create intelligence products and conduct oral briefings with decision makers on a monthly or as-needed basis.

  • Monitor, identify, and disrupt unauthorized/illegal/Security Threat Group

  • (STG) activities in conjunction with Local, Federal, and State law enforcement agencies.

  • Analyze data sets to identify patterns, trends, and/or vulnerabilities within a facility/Parole District.

  • Testify in court as fact/summary and expert witness as needed.

What You'll Need for Success:

This person must have the following requirements to be considered for employment:

  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE).

  • Two (2) years full-time professional experience in corrections, investigative work, law enforcement, or military police.

  • Must test negative on all drug screenings.

  • Must be able to communicate effectively.

  • Ability to develop a fundamental understanding of intelligence processes in a correctional environment to include institutional operations and criminal procedures.

  • Ability to conduct trainings, demonstrations, and presentations to various stakeholders.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite products.

  • Ability to learn third-party software applications within the first six (6) months of hire.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet competing deadlines.

  • Proactive and strong problem-solving skills with an interest in and the ability to conduct an analysis and report on the findings.

  • Ability to handle confidential information.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
