The Human Resources Department is currently accepting applications for the position ofDistribution Operator II-IIIin the Drinking Water Division of Operations Department. This recruitment may be used to establish an eligibility list for use to fill future vacancies.
Under supervision, performs a wide variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks associated with the operation, maintenance and construction of the Districts water distribution system; collects water samples; monitors water quality parameters in drinking water; and maintains a wide variety of State documents and records.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Distribution Operator - Grade II- This is the second certified level in the Distribution Operator series. It is distinguished from the Distribution Operator - Grade I by performance of more complex tasks and duties than those assigned to the Grade I level, as well as by duties allowed by a Water Distribution Operators Grade 2 certificate. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the Grade I level.
Distribution Operator - Grade III- This is the third certified level in the Distribution Operator series. It is distinguished from the Distribution Operator - Grade II by the ability to perform the full range of duties assigned including those that require a Water Distribution Operators Grade 3 certificate. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the Grade II level.
