SUMMARY

As a Lead Business Office Associate, your leadership ability combined with your business expertise allows you to obtain optimal reimbursements for the organization while guiding a team of associates.

STATUS: Full Time

LOCATION: WNY Reed Eye - Pittsford

DEPARTMENT: Ophthalmology

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday Days

ATTRIBUTES

• Five (5) years of related work experience in a healthcare setting required
• In lieu of an Associate's degree, an equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered
• Basic computer skills required
• Excellent customer service and communication skills required

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leadership. Provide leadership and assistance in facilitating the workflow for a team of Business Office Associates; communicate with the manager regarding team member performance; provide feedback necessary for recognition and performance management
• Registration. Review account registrations and charge postings for accuracy; obtain necessary information to update accounts through various methods, including, but not limited to; coordinating with patients or their representatives, organizational departments and insurance companies; record and verify account payments, contractual adjustments and/or denials
• Account Management. Utilize system reports/tools to monitor and maintain accounts, as well as to identify billing, coding and insurance eligibility errors; perform insurance verification to determine eligibility, patient liability and benefit coverage; prepare and submit claims to payers/intermediaries

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

PAY RANGE: $18.00 - $23.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
