Berkshire Health Systems LPN - OHS and Urgent Care in Pittsfield, Massachusetts

This is a temporary position.
  • DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION

  • The OHS/Urgent Care Licensed Practical Nurse supports the nursing process and functions at both Occupational Health and Urgent Care locations. This position will provide coverage to both departments, and this LPN must be willing to travel between the two sites on a regular basis. The Licensed Practical Nurse supports the nursing process and functions under the direction of the Medical Director, Mid-level Provider, and/or Department Director. The Licensed Practice Nurse must adhere to policy and procedure for Berkshire Medical Center and Berkshire Faculty Services clinical services.

  • POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.)

  • Experience:

  • Thorough knowledge of nursing principles and procedures required

  • Working knowledge of MSOffice required

  • Experience in Urgent Care, Occupational Health, phlebotomy, specimen testing, IV therapy preferred.

  • 5 years of current clinical experience in acute care preferred

  • 1 year of experience in Occupational Health preferred.

  • Education and Training:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing.

  • License, Certification & Registration:

  • LPN - Licensed Practical Nurses

  • BAT – Certified Breath Alcohol Technician, within 6 months of hire

  • DOT Urine Collection for Drug Screening within 6 months of hire

  • CPR

  • Valid MA driver’s license

  • Other Requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to perform diverse clinical skills under the direction of a registered nurse.

  • Demonstrated history of strong interpersonal and time management skills

  • Ability to take direction and follow through consistently.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written format.

  • Must be patient focused and work to improve customer satisfaction.

  • Demonstrates continuing education in accordance with State regulations.

  • Assures compliance with unit-specific scope of practice.

  • Data entry skills preferred,

  • Occasional Off-site work required

  • Additional tasks as requested by Director

  • Self- motivated and ability to be independent and flexible in a team framework.
