If you would like to contact us regarding the accessibility of our website or need assistance completing the application process, please contact us via email at careers@aethon.com or call 412-322-2975 -- ext. 160 POSITION SUMMARY: Aethon is seeking a Senior / Lead Electrical Engineer who will be responsible for the design, architecture, and implementation of electronic modules and systems for our current and next generation robotic solutions and supporting products. You will be responsible for technical aspects of design, testing, and support from prototyping through manufacturing. Experience in embedded systems, microcontrollers, programmable logic, fast prototyping, and integrated wire harness design is required. KEY RESPONSIBILITES: Lead and perform electrical design and development for Aethon's robotic solutions through all phases of design from requirements definition through manufacturing support Help coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project development activities are aligned Work with product engineering and manufacturing to continually improve product reliability Lead and organize efforts to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair circuit boards and electro-mechanical assemblies, analyze repair data to provide design improvements Participate in the design of new electronics and electro-mechanical assemblies, build and test prototypes Support manufacturing activities with troubleshooting and diagnostic expertise, creating and support test fixtures Lead efforts to improve new and existing product reliability
CAPABILITIES / QUALIFICATIONS: Strong familiarity with Linux and tools Strong electrical analysis, testing, and troubleshooting skills Digital and microcontroller-based logic Basic analog and data acquisition circuitry Communications and networking Experience with low and high-speed communication interfaces, such as CAN, USB, PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, and SPI Experience with a variety of battery chemistries and use in mobile or portable platforms Power supplies and power conversion Working with high integrated electro-mechanical assemblies Experience with EMC testing, mitigation techniques, and certification process Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal Ability to work both independently and within team environments Fluent in various CAD and electronic documentation systems such as Altium Experienced with working with outside vendors and design/fabrication contractors Minimum 5 years' experience in an equivalent capacity EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
