System One Senior Rail Systems Engineer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Senior Rail Systems Engineer

The Systems Engineer is responsible for:

  • Analyzing customer specifications, industry standards, and local processes to develop design requirements

  • Managing the design technical solution, adhering to the input requirements

  • Managing and implementing requirements changes

  • Leading collaborative problem solving that balances risk, time, cost

  • Providing technical solutions and estimates for change orders

  • Analyzing and mitigating design risks

  • Interfacing and guiding electrical hardware and software engineering professionals to execute the work

  • Preparing, submitting, and defending design documentation with external customers

  • Occasionally acting as an overall Project Engineer on smaller projects

    The position's minimum requirements are:

  • 8-15 years' experience in a requirements management position

  • Experience (desired) or familiarity (minimum) with requirements design tools such as DOORS, Jazz, MS Excel, others

  • BS Engineering degree

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • Practical experience working in collaborative teams with 1-5 engineers under direction of a senior Project Engineer
