GANNETT FLEMING INC Senior Highway Engineer / Technical Highway Lead in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Reference #: GAFLUS202411060EXTERNALENUS What You Will Do: Our Civil/Highway Engineering Practice will be looking for a  Senior Highway Engineer/Technical Highway Lead in the near future to join our Pittsburgh, PA Office.

As a key member of the Pittsburgh Transportation Group, the successful candidate will be responsible for management of roadway and transportation projects, including serving as the project engineer, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and with PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike. The primary focus will be on highway and multi-disciplined transportation design projects such as traditional design-bid-build as well as design build methods.

Position requires effective time management, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Successful candidate will be articulate with a professional presence and solid decision-making, planning and organizational skills. Responsibility for managing/overseeing scopes, schedules and budgets for projects performed with the highway group and daily successful operation of all aspects of project delivery including customer interface.

Additional responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Roadway task management and oversight of relationships with various governmental agencies (PennDOT, cities, and counties) Management of the roadway design team working on the assigned engineering project(s) Responsibility of the transportation project including scope development, proposed hours negotiations, cost control, project staff management, and quality control Plans, develops, directs, and coordinates activities of civil engineering projects to ensure that goals or objectives of these projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Develop, coordinate and oversee all aspects of transportation projects including roadway, drainage, stormwater management, erosion control and other transportation related components Coordinate and perform design activities and meetings between project design staff, including other disciplines within Gannett Fleming, subconsultants, and clients Perform reviews following Gannett Fleming's ISO 9001:2008 Certified Quality Management System Assists with proposals Participate in presentations as applicable Active engagement in pertinent professional organizationsEducation | Experience: Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline 10-20 years progressive experience in the design, management and implementation of highway/roadway civil engineering transportation projects primarily in Pennsylvania Licensed Pennsylvania Professional Engineer (PE) with other states a plus Must have demonstrated experience managing design teams on a variety of transportation projects including large, complex engineering projects. Must have knowledge and applicable experience with PennDOT's approved design software packages including MS Office, Microstation, ASTA and OpenRoads. Working knowledge and experience with PennDOT policy, procedures, standards and permitting requirements Extensive experience of PennDOT design and management Strong public speaking skills with good written and verbal communication skillsCompany Overview: At Gannett Fleming, we believe in improving the lives of the people we serve.
