Hitachi Rail STS USA SENIOR FIELD SERVICE SPECIALIST in PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania

Hitachi Rail STS USA, Inc., headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, seeks a Senior Field Service Specialist to execute maintenance activities on-site in accordance with the contract service level agreement and contractual key performance indicators (KPIs). Specific responsibilities include: (i) providing expert guidance for the execution of project activities in alignment with contractual obligations; (ii) ensuring the issuance of the maintenance function personnel roster at the project; (iii) preparing the corrective and preventive on-site maintenance plan; (iv) ensuring the issuance of technical reporting on-site maintenance and system performance to the customer; (v) analyzing and providing solutions to project technical issues, including critical failure of equipment and obsolescence issues; (vi) activating the escalation process to engineering or development departments in the event of major faults; (vii) collecting field data and supporting RAMS (reliability, availability, maintainability and safety software tools) figures analysis; (viii) updating technical documentation and troubleshooting procedures; (ix) providing expertise for the bidding phase with technical and economic evaluation for field functions; and (x) ensuring successful hand-over between commissioning and maintenance functions.

This position is for a roving employee who will work in unanticipated locations throughout the United States. The employee will have to relocate, but travel is not required from any particular location.

Must have five (5) years of experience in a field of signaling position within the railway industry.

Must have 2 years of field service experience as well as 2 years of experience with each of the following: (1) vital circuit design, coding, code reviews, debug, analyze and tune application and executive software of vital Solid State Interlocking (SSI)/Computer Based Interlocking (CBI)/ Wayside Automatic Train Control System product railway equipment / environment; and (2) vital circuit design, coding, code reviews, debug, analyze, and tune application and executive software of vital Wayside ATC Track circuits.

Must have knowledge of the following: (1) Railway Signaling Interlocking Principles, (2) Distance to Go (DTG) System/Automatic Train Control (ATC) system of Modern Rail Signaling Technology, (3) Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) System of Modern Rail Signaling Technology, (4) Electric switch machines from design, operation, adjustments, tuning, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance; (5) Onboard ATC systems from design, operation, adjustments, tuning, testing, troubleshooting and maintenance, (6) Testing, tuning, adjustment and maintenance of other Rail Signaling Product and (7) Interfacing wayside on-board signaling equipment with other equipment in Rail Industry.
