City of Asylum Pittsburgh Corp Program Outreach Coordinator in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
City of Asylum Pittsburgh seeks Program Outreach Coordinator in Pittsburgh, PA to promote and coordinate the activities of our social service program and community outreach organization, which provides residencies to persecuted literary writers and artists from abroad and offers free cultural programs to the community in the areas of literature, arts and humanities. Duties include: create and organize cultural and educational programs for schools and the community that feature our residents; through public talks and written communications, promote public awareness of our residency program and core mission of celebrating freedom of creative expression in order to expand our organization, including into other cities, and to solicit donations; assist resident writers in public outreach, including arranging interpreters for public talks and facilitating translation into English for publication; and recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers and staff to assist in program outreach.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in education or related field. Must have knowledge of: (i) serving as a spokesperson for a grassroots organization/committee; and (ii) communication in public relations. Travel required within the U.S., approximately 4 times per year, 2-3 days per trip for speaking engagements.
