University of Pittsburgh Post Doctoral Associate in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Post Doctoral Associate Neuroscience - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (24002046) The Meriney laboratory is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate for a 2-year initial commitment. The project will be focused on age-induced changes at the neuromuscular junction and testing novel treatment strategies to slow or alter the normal aging time course of degeneration at the neuromuscular synapse.

Requirements: a Ph.D. in neuroscience, experience working with mice, experience with intracellular recording from mouse muscle, immunohistochemistry, and in vivo behavioral testing of muscle strength.

This position will entail caring for and working with aging mice, dissection of mouse nerve-muscle preparations, intracellular recording from the neuromuscular synapse, immunohistochemistry, and behavioral testing in mice. In addition, the candidate will be required to design experiments, perform data analysis, science writing (papers and grants), and participate in laboratory meetings.
