TEKsystems Low Voltage Security Technician/Preventive Maintenance Tech in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Description:
Test, inspect and clean devices which may include smoke detectors, heat detectors, duct detectors, fire panels, primary and secondary power sources, pull stations and other life safety devices
Test various functions on fire panels
Ability to recognize and document deficiencies and recommend improvements identified during the inspection process
Timely completion of inspection related form

Top Skills Details:
This individual is required to test life safety systems to ensure compliance with fire codes. The candidate will have to clean and inspect fire alarms. If there's an issue with the life safety system, it will be documented. A Service Technician will be sent to the site. This candidate does not need to troubleshoot problems. If the system passes, the technician will add a sticker and document. These systems are subject to fire inspection and attention to detail is required. The candidate must be comfortable standing, walking, and climbing for 80% of the day. The ability to drive their motor vehicle to the job site(s) is also required. Additionally, the end customer is often a school or healthcare facility.

Knowledge of electronics and excellent troubleshooting skills
Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Able to follow verbal and written instructions, attention to detail
Ability to provide excellent customer service
Ability to work independently or as a team
Valid driver's license with a clear driving record
Experience Level:
Entry-level This is a great opportunity to enter the low-voltage field for those with electrical, construction, or trades experience. Upon hiring full-time, the technician will have the opportunity to obtain healthcare, PTO, and 401K.
