UPMC Shadyside is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist to join the team, supporting both Shadyside main department & Hillman Cancer Center! Offering a variety of shifts: 3 13-hour Daylight/Evening shifts between 6:30am - 8pm or 10am - 11:30pm or 5 8-hour between 7am - 3:30pm or 3pm - 11:30pm with rotating weekend and holiday call responsibilities. Responsibilities:
Performs all job responsibilities of Level II MRI Advanced Technologist including practices and maintains MR safety in the department, addresses patient safety through proper patient identification, labeling/preparation/and administration of contrast and communicating according to standard operating procedures, completes procedures according to protocol while presenting relevant information to physician, and updates and documents patient information into rad assessment.
Leads orientation and training for new hires, students and other medical personnel; ensures competencies are completed in the required time frame.
Assists with quality assurance projects and assists in the development of exam protocols alongside of or in place of Advanced Level II MRI Tech and communicates results back to departmental leadership.
Coordinates daily workflow and schedule of the department while maintaining staffing levels based on, but not limited to, call offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training needs.
Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the supervisor.
Assists in talent acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of MRI Technologist candidates and provides feedback for annual performance reviews.
Completion of formal training in MRI-related program accredited by the ARRT or ARMRIT or CNMT program or accredited ARDMS program.
3 years MRI experience required.
Performance review consistent with minimum of strong/ Solid performance on last performance review required. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
ARRT or ARMRIT MR Certified required.
CPR or BLS Required.
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
ARRT Certificate OR ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
