UPMC Lead MRI Technologist in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a full-time Lead MRI Technologist to support the MRI Department in Oakland!

We are offering a $15,000 sign-on bonus to eligible hires for a 2-year work commitment!

The Lead MRI Technologist will primarily work daylight shifts, Monday through Friday! There will be some occasional on-call coverage to support vacant shifts, which may include evening, Saturday, and holiday hours, when necessary. No overnights or travel required!

In addition to performing imaging procedures at an advanced level, the Lead MRI Technologist coordinates workflow, assists with projects, and coordinates educational activities in an environment heavily weighted towards women’s Imaging services. This role functions as a working technologist, while distributing workloads to ensure efficient operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs all job responsibilities of Level II MRI Advanced Technologist, including practicing and maintaining MR safety in the department, addressing patient safety through proper patient identification, labeling/preparation/administration of contrast, communicating according to standard operating procedures, completing procedures according to protocol while presenting relevant information to physician, and updating and documenting patient information into rad assessment.

  • Leads orientation and training for new hires, students, and other medical personnel, ensuring that competencies are completed in the required time frame.

  • Responsible for offering remediation with Technologists, when necessary.

  • Assists with quality assurance projects and assists in the development of exam protocols alongside of or in place of Advanced Level II MRI Tech and communicates results back to departmental leadership.

  • Coordinates daily workflow and schedule of the department while maintaining staffing levels based on, but not limited to, call offs, vacations, patient volumes, and training needs.

  • Assumes the leadership role in the absence of the supervisor.

  • Assists in Talent Acquisition interviews for successful recruitment of MRI Technologist candidates and provides feedback for annual performance reviews.

  • Completion of formal training in MRI-related program accredited by the ARRT or ARMRIT or CNMT program or accredited ARDMS program.

  • 3 years of MRI experience required.

  • Performance review consistent with minimum of Strong/Solid/Good performance on last performance review required.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

ARRT MR or ARMRIT MR Certified required. CPR or BLS Required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

  • ARRT Certificate OR ARRT Certificate OR Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification (NMTC) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)

  • ARRT MR or ARMRIT MR Certified required.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
