Department:  Engineering & Programs FLSA Status:  Nonexempt Starting rate:  $4,843

Overall Purpose: Under semi-direct supervision, performs drafting, mapping and Geographic Information System (GIS) data-entry and updates of moderate complexity requiring basic skills and knowledge AutoCad and GIS disciplines.

Job Responsibilities: As instructed, using corporate Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software, prepares or alters drawings, sketches and maps required for the development and completion of a project.

As instructed, using corporate GIS software, checks, revises or updates drawings, maps, tables and GIS data as instructed.

Utilizes computers (hardware and Office software), copiers and scanners as directed to perform assigned work.

Occasionally makes field trips, normally with others, to collect necessary information for completing a task.

As instructed, researches files and records including but not limited to public records and on-line data to obtain necessary information to complete a project.

Maintains job records and files electronically as directed.

Occasionally interacts with other sections of Engineering or Service Center groups in order to obtain clarification or information pertaining to assigned work.

Performs other work as required or assigned.

Education / Experience Requirements: High school graduate or equivalency.

Must pass EEI TECH test and demo of CAD and GIS skills.

Must show reasonable proficiency for making mathematical computations demonstrating analysis abilities for working with an Information System.

Must demonstrate a general knowledge of Duquesne Light Company Safety rules.

Must have a valid State Driver's License.
