Job Summary

Lead technical support activities in maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting sensitive machinery and equipment in a light manufacturing setting. Primary support for manufacturing/service operations to reduce equipment downtime through the execution of preventative maintenance, equipment calibration activities, and continuous improvement projects.

Essential Functions Acts as the primary liaison between Manufacturing Engineering & production staff on electro-mechanical related issues. Works with Manufacturing Engineering & production staff on electro-mechanical-related issues. Lead efforts in maintaining, testing, and troubleshooting sensitive machinery and equipment in a light manufacturing setting. Responsible for interacting with vendors and equipment manufacturers to obtain pricing and availability for correct replacement parts. Able to apply knowledge of electro-mechanical engineering technology under the direction of Manufacturing Engineering staff. Lead efforts in defining and documenting maintenance requirements for electro-mechanical fixtures and equipment. Support the manufacturing/service operations to reduce equipment downtime, execution of preventative maintenance and equipment calibration activities. Reviews assembly instructions and engineering documents in order to determine the nature of technical problems and propose possible solutions. Key contributor in process validation activities in an ISO-13485/FDA regulated environment. Key contributor in the evaluation of assembly processes with an emphasis on cost reduction, throughout, and mistake-proofing. Key contributor in training production staff in order to maintain a stable production process. Key contributor in continuous improvement activities & projects. Implements process improvements working within a formal Documentation Control System. Fabricates, assembles, and tests electro-mechanical fixtures. Sets up and conducts tests to investigate proposals for improving equipment performance or to obtain data for development, standardization, and quality control. Performs Proof-of-Concept activities and Design-of-Experiments. Required/Preferred Education and Experience Associate's Degree in mechanical/electrical technology discipline  and/or Military or other technical training required Five to eight years plus related experience.  preferred and Experience in a Medical device Manufacturing Environment preferred.  preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to use a wide range of hand and power tools on a variety of engineering materials. Structured troubleshooting skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work both independently and within a team-oriented environment.
