Diverse and Sustainable Sourcing Administrative Assistant

 

This position is located within the Strategic Sourcing Office within Purchase, Pay & Travel. Strategic Sourcing is responsible for identifying and managing strategic sourcing opportunities for university-wide savings on purchased goods and services.

Job Summary

Supports senior level roles in a wide variety of complex administrative and office functions as well as specialized technical support for academic or administrative departments.

Essential Functions

Diverse and Sustainable Sourcing Administrative Assistant is a newly formed position created to assist the Supplier Diversity & Sustainability Manager in the pursuit of increased diverse and sustainable spend at the University of Pittsburgh. Successful applicants should demonstrate a history and interest in supplier diversity, sustainable purchasing, procurement, event planning, and administrative tasks. Responsibilities may include:

  • Coordinate 10-20 annual supplier information sessions of various sizes in coordination with Procurement Specialists and Sourcing Specialists in order to increase small, diverse, and local participating in bidding opportunities.
  • Plan diverse and local supplier outreach and recruiting events on and off campus.
  • Track upcoming request for proposals RFPs in coordination with Purchasing and Strategic Sourcing staff.
  • Manage collection of data for sustainability reporting.
  • Track supplier inquiries, support supplier connections with University departments including interaction of departments with suppliers
  • Track collection go supplier Tier II spend data.

Physical Effort

Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.
