Position Overview

As a Data Expert within PNC's Enterprise Data Management organization, this position is primarily based in a location within PNC's footprint. Preferred locations are listed in this requisition. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities can be performed remotely. Additional locations may be considered.

Core responsibilities include:

• Data research and analysis

• Transforming business data requirements into technical data requirements for development

• Engage enterprise data consumers from varies domains, lead complex conversions, and build consensuses to move discussions forward with tangible action items

• Execute various controls, reconciliations, and perform data quality reviews

• Participate in key modeler and lending business related meetings and understand their group’s data initiatives

• Understand and present the impact of data changes to consumer applications and lines of businesses for review and approval

• Support the closure of audit, regulatory, and other control function findings.

Preferred skills and experiences:

• Familiar with data ecosystem and enterprise data consumption’s strategy, guidelines, and policies

• Understanding credit / model risk

• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks, such as CCAR, LCR, FDIC and CECL.

• Knowledge of and ability to utilize business processes and technologies for gathering, storing, analyzing, and providing access to data that helps the organization make better business decisions.

• Knowledge of application design activities, tools and techniques; ability to utilize these to convert business requirements and logical models into a technical application design.

• Programming skills in one or more of the following: Impala, Hue, SQL, SAS, Python, R, or other software used to extract, aggregate, and prepare data for analytics

• Knowledge and experience with Hadoop, Teradata, Tableau, TOAD, Jira, Microsoft Office Products

Job Description

  • Manages and develops information systems for clients; conducts data information analysis for a variety of studies under the direction of organizational standards. Develops strategies for data implementation, data acquisition, and archive recovery.

  • Helps advise business, applications and operations counterparts to ensure data integrity and availability.

  • Structures the environment and creates logical storage units especially for size and physical locations, to map database elements into logical units.

  • Implements and supports technologies for managing and effectively utilizing multiple information sources, formats and uses. Resolves data integration and security issues for adherence to the organization's quality standards.

  • Researches customers needs, conducts awareness and promotional sessions for potential customers.

Data Mining – Knowledge of tools, techniques and practices in data mining technologies used to acquire essential business information.

Emerging Technologies – Knowledge of and ability to design, apply and evaluate new information technologies for business environments in order to improve work productivity and accuracy.

Informatics/Information Sciences – Knowledge of and the ability to gather, communicate and store useful information within and across organizations in order to enhance employee knowledge and improve organizational performance.

IT Standards, Procedures & Policies – Knowledge of and the ability to utilize a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to manage organizational IT policies, standards, and procedures.

Modeling: Data, Process, Events, Objects – Knowledge of and the ability to use tools and techniques for analyzing and documenting logical relationships among data, processes or events.

Root Cause Analysis (RCA) – Knowledge of and ability to use a structured approach to identify the cause of undesirable consequences in a manufacturing environment and the changes needed to prevent a recurrence.

Work Experience

Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree, with 5+ years of industry-relevant experience. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
