Clinical Research Coordinator

This position is within the Division of Geriatric Medicine at The University of Pittsburgh. The Clinical Research Coordinator will work on Dr. Christine Kistler's "Improving Primary Care Clinicians' Advance Care Planning for Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias" clinical trial and assist with research activities between the University and the Pittsburgh VA Health System.

This position will be responsible for the clinical trial and VA QI/research activities which includes the following: review participant recruitment, screening, and eligibility; clinic eligibility verification; maintain informed consent documents; obtain study measurements and data; maintain study files; communication with external partner sites; IRB communication; and internal and external project tracking and reporting.

Job Summary

Conducts research assessments on study participants. Assists with and adheres to Institutional Review Board (IRB) renewal, modification, and approved protocols. Assists with training staff. Ensures adherence to protocols and corrects issues with data collection.

Essential Functions

This position supports the clinical research operations of Dr. Christine Kistler's NIH funded R01 project "Improving Primary Care Clinicians' Advance Care Planning for Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias" in the Division of Geriatric Medicine.

Physical Effort

Moderate physical effort required. May be required to stand/move for several hours at a time. May be required to move objects up to 50 pounds with or without assistance of equipment.
