ANCC Magnet designated UPMC Passavant is currently hiring a Full-Time Invasive Cardiac Technologist to support our Cardiac Catheterization Lab at the McCandless location. Title and salary will be determined based upon education and experience.
Shift Details:
Monday - Friday
4 10-hour shifts per week between 7am - 5:30pm
Employees work 10-hour shifts that may continue past the scheduled time to accommodate patients procedures
Self-scheduling among team members
On-call shifts required to cover nights, weekends and holidays
Off 6 weekends per 8-week schedule
Shifts will be further discussed during the interview
Purpose:
Performs imaging procedures at an advanced level not requiring constant supervision. Competently performs a variety of advanced technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes.
Responsibilities:
Demonstrates a willingness to learn new skills as well as educate others in their areas of expertise. Serves as a resource for new hires and students
Demonstrates the ability to function independently, and perform services at other facilities including on call responsibility
Performs all job responsibilities of an Invasive Cardiovascular Technologist II
Works as team member within assigned area to expedite patient care efficiently by demonstrating excellent communication and customer service skills. Effectively communicates with physicians, co-workers, managers, and patients in assigned sites and/or departments
Completes yearly project designed for the service line and or for implementation at the system level, content agreed upon with management. Content areas include but not limited to: evidence-based practice change; service line workgroup leadership; quality improvement; research.
Demonstrate mastery of all equipment utilized for procedures
Active role in inventory management as assigned. Assures that annual lead apron testing is completed
Active participation in quality improvement activities for department as well as system level workgroups
Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology (RT-R) or Invasive Cardiovascular Technology (RCIS).
2 years of experience in invasive cardiology, vascular and/or electrophysiology.
Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
ARRT Certificate OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
