Federated Hermes 9143: Accountant I (Accounts Payable) in PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania

We have an exciting opportunity for an Accountant I located in Pittsburgh, PA.

What You'll Do

As an Accountant I you will ensure that all invoices and expense reports received in Accounts Payable have proper authorization, account assignment, and comply with company policies and procedures, as well as policies of federal, state and various regulatory agencies.   Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required for internal use, client reporting and regulatory agencies.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Approve expense report and invoices for weekly payment processing.     
  • Prepare scheduled payments and validate 1099 data.                                                                                                         
  • Research files for required escheatment follow-up and documentation.                                    
  • Reconciliation and allocation of costs charges to holding account for fund expense charges.                  
  • Maintain and prepare reclass GL assignment for deposits.                                                                   
  • Maintain AP Web site.                                                                                                  
  • Monitor outstanding amounts due from separating employees.                               
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Review operating methods and procedures to promote efficiencies. 
  • Maintain up-to-date written procedures for all assigned responsibilities.

     

The Expertise We're Looking For

  • Associates degree in business related field or equivalent experience (two years in accounting related role)
  • Understanding of general accounting; Accounts Payable experience preferred.
  • Above average Excel skills: experience with V-Lookups, pivot tables and if statements preferred.
  • Financial service industry experience and knowledge of Oracle Financials is a plus.
