Certified Nursing Assistant/ Personal Care Aide Reports to: Medication Aide Job Functions: Job Description Every effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position. Provide assistance to residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as needed according to care plan. (Toileting, Ambulation, Eating, Transferring, Bathing, Dressing, Personal Hygiene, etc.) Assisting and teaching, as required, skills in self-help to maximize their independence and freedom of movement. ' I 2. Assure that Residents are dressed appropriately when in living areas of the home or outside of the facility. 3. Provide personal assistance as needed, requested, or required. 4. Respond to call lights. 5. Assist Residents with mobility throughout facility as needed. 6. Assist Activities department in carrying out planned Activities. 7. Provide assistance to residents to keep clothes in proper order, including assistance with laundering. 8. Assist with basic housekeeping tasks, vacuum ng, dusting, cleaning of bathrooms as needed. 9. Assist Resident with making beds. Make beds for Residents who are unable. IO.Provide Residents with a clean towel and washcloth as needed. ll.Provide assistance with using, emptying and cleaning Residents equipment'[: (urinals, bedside commodes, bed pans, Wash 'basins, showers, chairs, etc.) as needed. 12. Assure Residents receive their snacks. 13. Assist them to meals as needed. 14. Orient new Residents to the facility. 15. Notify your supervisor when there is a need f,or medical attention of any Resident. )6.Report any accident or incident to your supervisor. 17.Maintain the self-respect, personal dignity, aid physical safety of each Resident. 18. Work cooperatively with all other staff and relate favorably to Residents, their families and visitors. 19. Be familiar with the confidentiality requirements for Residents Information. 20. Assure careful treatment and care of facility equipment and utilization of supplies. 21. Be familiar with and be able to apply all of the facility's accident, fire safety, OSHA, and emergency procedures. 22. Be familiar and adhere to the Resident Bill ofiRights and assist Residents in exercising their rights. 23. Read and adhere to all facility and employee: policies. 24. Participate in any job- related continuing education as required by the Administrator. 25. Perform other related duties as assigned in accordance with the Licensure rules, the facility's policies and procedures and or resident needs. 26. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation as required in resident services, such as progress notes, incidents changes in conditions, appearance, vital signs and behavior of residents. 27. Be able to lift up to 751bs, twist, and stand on their feet for extended periods of time.
