SHI Warehouse Shipping Supervisor in Piscataway, New Jersey

Job Summary

The Warehouse Shipping Supervisor manages a team of by serving as a point of escalation and overseeing the team’s daily operations. The Supervisor will act as a mentor and resource to staff by providing guidance to aide in completion of daily tasks and resolution of issues with processing shipments and picking customer orders. This position reports directly to the Warehouse Shipping Manager and is required to report to the Piscataway, NJ Ridge Integration Center location.

Responsibilities

Include but not limited to:

  • Manage the processes of the shipping and picking departments by ensuring systems and tools are up to date and the workload is being delegated appropriately

  • Manage the relationships with our freight/parcel carriers to ensure shipments are coordinated for pickup each day

  • Enforce policy and procedure with staff, and follow up with disciplinary action when required

  • Continual feedback on both positive and negative performance

  • Collaborates with Warehouse Management and staff to roll out new policy or procedures

  • Provide information on system related issues to upper management

  • Regularly walk the floor to assist staff with work related issues

  • Team building and collaboration by unifying teams and setting common goals

  • Assist with interviewing and hiring decisions

  • Fill in for the late shift supervisor as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ Warehouse experience

  • Minimum 1 year Experience in Shipping dept

  • High School diploma or equivalent GED

Required Skills

  • Leadership skills with ability to manage small and large groups

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast pace environment while meeting all deadlines

  • Ability to assist in hiring decisions and pick quality candidates

  • Ability to recognize workflow issues

  • Ability to complete tasks without management follow up

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, Teams and Excel

  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

  • Knowledge of AX

  • Strong understanding of SHI Integration Center Processes, Policies, and Procedures

  • Possess bachelor’s degree

Certifications Required

  • Hazmat Certified (must be completed within 90 days of employment)

Additional Information

  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $45,000 - $65,000. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
